Our people

People enjoy working at National, which means you're likely to enjoy doing business with us. All our staff are highly trained and have the power to make decisions that resolve customers' queries (we're not keen on hierarchies). In fact, we were the first major car rental company to win an Investors in People award.

Our network

We also have the largest fleet in the UK (average of 37,000), with a wide range of models and approaching 160 branches across the UK.

Outside the UK, our global network gives you access to more than 80 countries, 3,800 rental locations and a fleet of approximately 300,000.

Our customer service

We know that good customer service makes all the difference. We have a team dedicated solely to creating new customer initiatives, and our Vision programme aims to continually improve our service standards by building long-term relationships with customers and by coming up with clever solutions to people's difficulties.

We work with business customers to provide the most appropriate and cost-effective service for the business' needs. We draw up a specially tailored account development plan with each business we work with.

  • We've been awarded ISO 9002, the highest international quality accreditation that recognises standards of excellence in the vehicle rental industry.

  • Our clients include some of Britain's biggest names, including many of the country's best known blue-chip companies.

  • We've been awarded an Investors in People Award for our Operations department.

  • We've won the 'Best Daily Rental Company' Award in the Fleet News Awards 2005 - the eleventh year that we have won this prestigious award.

  • We have been awarded the 'UK Car Rental Company of the Year 2006' by The Institute of Transport Management.

  • We've won the 'Daily Rental Service Award' in the Fleet Excellence Awards in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Voted by readers of Fleet Management and Fleet Week magazines.

  • We have been awarded the highly prestigious National Training Award 2004 in recognition of our excellence in staff training.

  • We've won the 'Innovation Award' in 2004 Fleet World Honours.

  • We've been voted winner of the "Business Car Services" award in the Business Travel World Awards 2003, by key figures in the business travel industry.
