STREAMLINED CHECK-OUT AT STANSTED MARKS NEW ERA FOR CORPORATE CAR RENTAL
National Car Rental pilots unique automated key handover scheme



In yet another move to make business travel a stress-free and streamlined experience, National Car Rental has launched a major new initiative at Stansted Airport, in partnership with one of its key corporate customers.

A unique key locker system has been installed at the National parking facility at Stansted in a pilot scheme designed to enable travellers to bypass the rental counter and automate the handover of the keys and car. The initiative paves the way for a new era of seamless business travel, ahead of major enhancements to National’s frequent renter programme, Emerald Club, scheduled for 2007. It also demonstrates National’s continued investment in innovative travel solutions for corporate customers.

As part of the pilot scheme, cars are booked using National’s online reservation and rental management system, carhirebooker.com and, upon arrival at Stansted Airport, the customer bypasses the rental counter. Instead, they go straight to the National parking facility, where the key locker is located, swipe their credit card and the keys and rental agreement are automatically dispensed.

By eliminating the need to go to the rental desk, business travellers step off the plane and onto the next stage of their journey as quickly as possible.
