National Launches Seamless Rental Proposition
New ‘Self-Service’ Solution Streamlines Rental Process
from Beginning to End
National Car Rental has launched a unique seamless rental proposition that brings together its complete suite of online and counter bypass products* to create one integrated ‘self-service’ solution for fleet managers and drivers. The launch of the proposition is designed to improve business and traveller efficiency and experience; reduce business costs and, importantly, assist companies to meet their duty of care responsibilities.
Building on National’s significant investment in technology and extensive understanding of the customer experience, the seamless proposition streamlines the entire rental experience - from vehicle reservation and customer collection and return through to billing and query resolution - without any detriment to customer service. Once the initial reservation is made the customer doesn’t need to provide any further information or have any further contact - unless they wish to.

- Online Reservations and Rental Management
Carhirebooker.com – National’s self service online rental management solution giving complete control of the reservation & rental process with a unique workflow function to provide control over vehicles booked by drivers.
SMS Messaging - Used with Fleet & Corporate customers’ drivers for reservation confirmation, extensions, invoice requests and to collect mileage data for management information.
- Bypass the Counter and go straight to the car
Key Lockers - A unique key locker system at the National parking facility at Stansted Airport enables travellers to bypass the rental counter, swipe their credit card through the Key Locker and have the vehicle keys and rental agreement automatically dispensed.
- Car return
Automated Damage Pricing - Using cost information direct from motor manufacturers and independent parts vendors, the system enables an instant calculation of the cost of repairs and is fully integrated within the National central rental system.
- E-Invoice at the end of the rental
E-billing - Providing total online access to invoices, our e-billing system enables customers to manage the use and costs of vehicle rental. Invoices are provided direct to the desktop within 24 hours of the rental completion.
- Online Management information and reports
Online Management Information - Instant, online access to vehicle rental usage data, at any time, providing the facility to assess every aspect of vehicle usage and cost. Reports are accessible on vehicle usage to suit an organisation’s requirements, with total flexibility over the level and frequency of reporting. The reports are also extremely comprehensive, allowing extensive comparison and trends reporting for a business, with raw data going back to 1st January 2002.
- E-Service for Customer Service Enquiries
E-service – An online customer service tool, enabling customers to register and report service issues for a more streamlined issue resolution process.
