Escondido

Just north of San Diego, Escondido is a laid back surfer’s paradise occupying a valley surrounded by rocky hills. The area of Grand Avenue is downtown Escondido’s main strip and is not only the city’s bar, restaurant and cultural centre but also hosts “Cruisin Grand” every Friday evening throughout the summer where the public can show or just watch hot rods and classic cars. The event takes the form of a festival with stalls, music and entertainment for the whole family. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is situated just outside Escondido, as are various farms and wineries that offer tours for those who appreciate local produce.

The National Car Rental branch in Escondido is on West 4th Avenue which runs from Westside Park to South Centre City Parkway.
