Melbourne

Named after Melbourne in Australia, Florida’s Melbourne is located on east central Florida’s Space Coast in the south of Brevard County. Bisected by Interstate 95, most of Melbourne is on Florida’s mainland but a small portion extends on to a barrier island which is separated from the mainland by the Indian River Lagoon - a series of lagoons extending along the east coast. Bridging the gap between the island and the mainland is a pair of four lane high-rise bridges: The Melbourne Causeway and the Eau Gallie Causeway.

Melbourne has two old downtown areas boasting a plethora of shops and restaurants. The Eau Gallie is the city’s historic district and home to the Brevard Museum of Arts and Science and the Brevard Zoo. Other attractions in Melbourne include the Andretti Thrill Park, the Space Coast Stadium, the Super Flea & Farmers Market and the Greyhound Park.
