Buffalo

Known as “The Queen City” and the “City of Trees”, the waterfront city of Buffalo is situated in Western New York along the eastern shore of Lake Erie and at the head of the Niagara River. It has 32 neighborhoods, over 20 parks and over 50 art galleries. Buffalo hosts two annual street festivals - the Allentown Art Festival and the Elmwood Festival of the Arts - and a number of free open air concerts

Buffalo has a number of notable art deco buildings including Buffalo City Hall - a spectacular art deco skyscraper which is also a listed building, and Buffalo Central Terminal – a massive art deco railroad station. Other structures of interest include St Adalbert’s Basilica, St Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, the McKinley Monument and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Nightlife in Buffalo is centred around the areas of West Chippewa Street and Allentown. The Elmwood Strip is more family oriented with a variety of shops and restaurants.
