It is bordered by steep hills on all sides from which the waterfalls which characterise the region pour down. It is a city that boasts a high standard of living for its residents, is at the forefront of vegetarian cuisine and was selected by Mother Earth News as one of the “12 Great Places You’ve Never Heard Of”. Ithaca hosts farmers markets, theatres and orchestral recitals and celebrates the arts with the Ithaca Festival, the Circus Eccentrithaca and the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts. Ithaca is a place known for its sense of community, peaceful leanings and resident musical scene.
