Sacramento

Sacramento is the capital city of California. It is situated in California’s “Gold Country” and lies within easy reach of Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. The city can be accessed via several large freeways: Interstates 5 and 80, the Capital City Freeway and Highways 50, 65, 99 and 160. Home of the California State University, Sacramento is also proud of its historical side. Cobbled streets, historic buildings, steam trains and paddle steamers can all be found in Old Sacramento which has become a magnet for tourists. The city also has a thriving cultural scene with numerous theatres and, most notably, the Sacramento Theatre Company, the Sacramento Ballet, the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival.
