Driving Record Eligibility

Rental will be subject to a verification of driving record. All renters/drivers are subject to having their driving records and licences checked. If a renter/driver does not meet the applicable rental requirements, including the guidelines for driving licences and driving records, they may be denied a rental. National is not responsible for the failure of any renter/driver to qualify for a rental under these requirements or guidelines.

For rentals in the UK, rental privileges are denied if a driving licence is suspended or his/her record includes, but is not limited to, one of the following:

• Endorsements commencing UT
  
• Any endorsements commencing IN10
  
• Endorsements commencing DD/DR (one only) in the past five years
  
• Endorsements CD40 / CD50 / CD60 / CD70 in the past five years
  
• Any licence with two or more periods of disqualification
  
• Any other conviction with a period of disqualification of 6 months or more in the past five years
  

National may verify your driving record with the local driving authorities. Renter must hold a valid drivers licence for a minimum of 1 year. Wigan, Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay, Taunton, Pembroke and Carmarthen all have different elegibility requirements. Please contact the branch directly for enquiries.


Exceptions

Ireland Drivers must produce a full driving licence and have at least 2 years continuous driving experience, free from serious endorsement or disqualification prior to rental. Only drivers named on the rental agreement are permitted to drive the rental vehicle. Failure to adhere to this condition will result in the insurance being null and void. An International Driving Licence is not required. For all holders of UK licences - both parts (photo ID and accompanying page) must be produced.
