Cancellation Charges

We will not charge for reservations cancelled 7 days or more before your pick up time. If you cancel your booking after this time, the following charges apply:

• If you cancel your booking less than 7 days before pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £20 whichever is the lesser.
• If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser.

In the event of a cancellation, your credit card will be refunded, less the above charge.

No-shows & late or early arrivals

Your vehicle will be held for 2 hours from the specified reserved time. After this time we cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available upon arrival.

For all airport bookings, however, where a flight number has been supplied the vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. Where a flight delay results in a customer arriving after the station closing time a member of staff will wait for the flight to land and clear. If the delay is in excess of one hour after the station closing time an out of hours fee may apply. Where no flight number has been supplied we will hold the vehicle for a period of up to 2 hours or until station closing time, which ever is the earlier. Staff will not wait beyond closing time where no flight number is supplied.

When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates entered are correct, if your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times please amend your reservation online.

Customers who arrive 1 day or more early at our rental stations with a reservation that does not match the current date will not be able to use the reservation reserved online. The branch may be able to offer an alternate reservation but please note the rates will not match the online reservation.

If you fail to collect your car on the specified pick-up date, we reserve the right to charge a no-show fee of either the cost of the booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser. In the event of a no-show, your credit card will be refunded, less the no-show charge.

Unused Rental Days

Please note that any unused rental days on prepaid reservations are non-refundable.

Rules and regulations - check before you travel

If you are planning to drive to abroad, you will need to be aware of your responsibilities to follow driving laws in your destination country. We strongly recommend you make your own investigations before travelling.

Driving abroad in Winter conditions

Whilst driving abroad in winter conditions, legally some countries will have restrictions on the equipment a vehicle should carry or have fitted, this can include snow tyres. Whilst driving abroad its important to adhere to the driving laws in that country. Failure to do so could result in a fine or temporary loss of your vehicle. Snow tyres and snow chains are available to hire for an additional fee and must be requested at time of booking. For online bookings where the pick-up country specified requires snow tyres a charge will normally be added to your reservation and these will be fitted to the vehicle. However, if you are planning to drive cross-border please check country requirements and request equipment be added to your reservation where appropriate by contacting our Call Centre.

We strongly recommend you make your own investigations as to whether or not you will require any additional winter equipment before travelling abroad. The RAC website (www.rac.co.uk/driving-abroad) provides additional information and tips on driving abroad.

Estonia

Additional Driver Policy

Additional driver charge will be EUR 3.34 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 23.38 + tax per rental. There is no maximum number of additional driver's allowed per rental.

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is as follows: 21 years for car groups: ECMN ( Economy), EDMR (Economy) and CDMR (Compact). 25 years for car groups: CDAR (Compact), CWMR (compact Wagon-Estate), FVMR (Full Size Pax Van), IDAR (Intermediate), IDMR (Intermediate), IVMR (Intermediate Pax Van), IWMR (Intermediate Wagon-Estate), LDAR (Luxury), LFAR (Luxury 4x4), SDAR (Standard), SDMR (Standard), SVMR (Standard Pax Van), SWMR (Standard Wagon-Estate). There is no maximum age limit. Young drivers fee - EUR 3.34 + tax per day for drivers aged less than 25 years old.

Cross Border Policy

Cross border into Russia is not allowed. An additional insurance must be purchased in case of travel into Finland, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Baltic countries (Lithuania and Latvia). Additional Border Crossing fee applies of EUR 5.00 + tax per day with a maximum charge of EUR 35.00 + tax. The following car groups may not be taken into Lithuania and Poland (SDMR, SDAR and SWMR) Please be advised that due to a change in law in Germany, it is mandatory for all vehicles crossing the border into Germany to have winter tyres fitted during the Snow & Icy conditions. Customers will be fined on the spot if they are stopped by police and found to not have the appropriate winter tyres.

Delivery / Collection

In Town: EUR 20.00 + Tax (up to 25km) - on request.  Out of Town: EUR 64.00 + tax - on request.  Delivery & Collection is also allowed out of hours as above but with an out of hours charge of EUR 31.95 + tax.

Insurance Excess

Collision Damage Waiver & Theft Waiver limits the customer’s financial responsibility for loss, damage or theft of the rental vehicle. The maximum excess that is payable in the event of one of these incidents is 2 300.00 EUR. The maximum excess will vary depending on the vehicle you are renting, please ask at time of rental for further information on which excess applies.  If you would like to reduce or remove your excess responsibility please ask the rental staff when collecting your vehicle about additional products that are on offer .

License Requirements

Valid driving licence must have been held for at least: Two years for car groups: CDAR (Compact), CDMR (Compact), CWMR (Compact Wagon-Estate), ECMN (Compact), EDMR (Compact), IDAR (Intermediate), IDMR (Intermediate), IVMR (Intermediate Pax Van), IWMR (Intermediate Wagon-Estate). Three years for car groups: FVMR (Full Size Pax Van), LDAR (Luxuary), LFAR (Luxuary 4x4), SDAR (Standard), SVMR (Standard Pax Van), SWMR (Standard Wagon-Estate), SDMR (Standard). The residents of the following countries are required to have an International Driving Licence when driving in Estonia: Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Belize, Benin, Botswana, Cambodia, Canada, Chilecongo, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Fiji, Gambia, Gibralter, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kyrgystan, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malaysia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Namibia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Syria, Swaziland, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, United States, West Samoa. Driving Licences issued by the Peoples Republic of China must be accompanied by a notarised translation Instead of an IDL. Should your driving license not be resident to the country of origin of your booking we reserve the right to charge an appropriate rate for your country of residence.

One Way Rentals

Allowed between all locations and cost as follows: Tallinn DT to Tallinn Apt = Free of charge (and vice versa). All other domestic one ways are charged at EUR 32.00 + tax except one ways to and from Kuressaare Airport which are charged at EUR 45.00 + tax.  There is a Domestic Penalty charge of EUR 128.00 + tax (paid locally if applicable). This only applies if the car has not been left at a rental station (i.e. in the middle of nowhere in Estonia). International one ways are allowed for all car groups between the following locations: Estonia to Riga (Latvia): EUR 95.00 + tax. Estonia to Vilnius (Lithuania): EUR 180.00 + tax. Estonia to Palanga, Kaunas, Klaipeda (Lithuania): EUR 225.00 + tax. No other international one ways are allowed.

Out of Hours Policy

After office hours charge is EUR 32.00 + Tax. Out of hours pick ups are allowed at all locations on Request. For Parnu DT & Tartu DT, out of hours bookings are not allowed on Sunday's.

Payment Policy

All major Credit Cards accepted (Visa, Diners, MasterCard, Amex) National Charge Cards, National Vouchers, Eurocheques & Travellers Cheques are also accepted. Cash is not accepted.  A deposit of 20% of the estimated rental charges plus EUR 275.00 + tax is applicable, which is held on the credit card until the car is returned. A second credit card is mandatory for car group LFAR and this must be American Express. The deposit must be paid by credit card.

Refuelling Policy

Customers must return the car with the same amount of fuel as provided at the start of the rental, otherwise refuelling charges may apply.

Roadside Assistance

All details will be given to the customer at time of pick up.

Special Equipment

Baby Seat - CSB (0 - 12 months / 0 - 13 Kgs) - EUR 7.00 + tax per day with a maximum charge of EUR 49.00 + tax. Replacement Amount is EUR 200.00 + tax. On Request. This is not loaded in the system so if required, please add to the remarks on the reservation. Toddler Seat - CST (1 - 3 years / 9 - 18 kg) - EUR 7.00 + tax per day with a maximum charge of EUR 49.00 + tax. Replacement Amount is EUR 200.00 + tax. On Request. Child Infant Seat - CSI (4 - 7 years) - EUR 7.00 + tax per day with a maximum charge of EUR 49.00 + tax. Replacement Amount is EUR 200.00 + tax. On Request. Booster Seat - BST (8 - 10 years) - EUR 5.00 + tax per day with a maximum amount of EUR 35.00 + tax. Replacement Amount is EUR 120.00 + tax. On Request. Ski Rack (SKR) - EUR 5.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 35.00 + tax.  Replacement Amount is EUR 120.00 + tax. On Request. Not available from Tartu Downtown, Tartu Airport, Parnu Office and Kuressaare Airport. GPS - EUR 10.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of EUR 70.00 + tax. Replacement Amount is EUR 320.00 + tax. On Freesale Winter Equipped Vehicle - (see Winter fee in Surcharges) MANDATORY from 15th October to 15th March (includes snow tyres). This country does not provide reflective jackets and is not required by law to do so.

Surcharges

Winter fee = (WIEV) EUR 3.34 + tax per day - MANDATORY for all rentals from 15th October until 15th March (see Winter Equipped Vehicle in Special Equipment). A Peak Period Surcharge of EUR 4.17 + tax per day applies from 10th July to 25th August - this is only applicable to Corporate Rates for National.
