Renters must notify National within 24 hours of any accident and will likely be required to complete an accident report for National's records and their own. This report is for both parties' protection, and is particularly important if the renters have purchased a waiver of damage. Statements made may become a permanent part of the accident report. Renters must be truthful and accurate, as statements may be used in legal claims.
Once the accident report is completed, renters should be able to continue the trip. Renters must save all original receipts stating the reason for purchase of parts or labour and the amounts.
Within Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, renters must complete a report form at the time of the incident. These forms are provided at the start of the rental period. Dependent on the circumstances of the accident, National reserves the right not to supply a replacement vehicle immediately.
National customers in need of emergency road side service anywhere in Latin America or the Caribbean can call the specific number(s) provided at the pick up location at time of rental.
