Cancellation Charges

We will not charge for reservations cancelled 7 days or more before your pick up time. If you cancel your booking after this time, the following charges apply:

• If you cancel your booking less than 7 days before pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £20 whichever is the lesser.
• If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser.

In the event of a cancellation, your credit card will be refunded, less the above charge.

No-shows & late or early arrivals

Your vehicle will be held for 2 hours from the specified reserved time. After this time we cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available upon arrival.

For all airport bookings, however, where a flight number has been supplied the vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. Where a flight delay results in a customer arriving after the station closing time a member of staff will wait for the flight to land and clear. If the delay is in excess of one hour after the station closing time an out of hours fee may apply. Where no flight number has been supplied we will hold the vehicle for a period of up to 2 hours or until station closing time, which ever is the earlier. Staff will not wait beyond closing time where no flight number is supplied.

When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates entered are correct, if your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times please amend your reservation online.

Customers who arrive 1 day or more early at our rental stations with a reservation that does not match the current date will not be able to use the reservation reserved online. The branch may be able to offer an alternate reservation but please note the rates will not match the online reservation.

If you fail to collect your car on the specified pick-up date, we reserve the right to charge a no-show fee of either the cost of the booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser. In the event of a no-show, your credit card will be refunded, less the no-show charge.

Unused Rental Days

Please note that any unused rental days on prepaid reservations are non-refundable.

Rules and regulations - check before you travel

If you are planning to drive to abroad, you will need to be aware of your responsibilities to follow driving laws in your destination country. We strongly recommend you make your own investigations before travelling.

Driving abroad in Winter conditions

Whilst driving abroad in winter conditions, legally some countries will have restrictions on the equipment a vehicle should carry or have fitted, this can include snow tyres. Whilst driving abroad its important to adhere to the driving laws in that country. Failure to do so could result in a fine or temporary loss of your vehicle. Snow tyres and snow chains are available to hire for an additional fee and must be requested at time of booking. For online bookings where the pick-up country specified requires snow tyres a charge will normally be added to your reservation and these will be fitted to the vehicle. However, if you are planning to drive cross-border please check country requirements and request equipment be added to your reservation where appropriate by contacting our Call Centre.

We strongly recommend you make your own investigations as to whether or not you will require any additional winter equipment before travelling abroad. The RAC website (www.rac.co.uk/driving-abroad) provides additional information and tips on driving abroad.

Poland

Additional Driver Policy

Additional driver charge is Euro 2.80 + tax per day

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is 21 years for car groups ECMN (Economy), ECMR (Ecomony) and CCMR (Compact), 25 years for groups CWMR (Compact Wagon-Estate), IDMR (Intermediate), ICAR (Intermediate) and 27 years for car group SVMR (Standard PAx Van) and PDAR (Premium). The upper age limit is 80 years. A young drivers surcharge applies as follows: 21 - 22 years = 5 EUR + tax per day. 23 - 24 years = 4 EUR + tax per day.

Cross Border Policy

Cars are NOT permitted to be driven into: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Turkey, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia. Green Card insurance is included with normal insurance and no longer required to be purchased separately for EU contries as well as Switzerland, Norway and Iceland , Faroe Islands, Monaco, San Marino, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein . A kilometer limitation is also applied for travel outside Poland of 220 kilometers per day. Each additional km will be charged as follows: ECMN I(Economy) = EUR 0.20 + tax, ECMR (Economy)= 0.20 + tax, CCMR (Compact)= 0.25 + tax, CWMR (Compact Wagon-Estate)= 0,30 + tax, IDMR (Intermediate)= 0.35 + tax, ICAR (Intermediate) =0,35 + tax, SVMR (Standard Pax Van)= 0,95 + tax, paid locally. Please be advised that due to a change in law in Germany, it is mandatory for all vehicles crossing the border into Germany to have winter tyres fitted during the Snow & Icy conditions. Customers will be fined on the spot if they are stopped by police and found to not have the appropriate winter tyres.

Delivery / Collection

Free of charge to hotels in cities and towns with National locations. Car delivery/collection to/from other cities within Poland 0.62 Euro inc tax per 1 km.

Insurance Excess

Collision Damage Waiver & Theft Waiver limits the customer’s financial responsibility for loss, damage or theft of the rental vehicle. The maximum excess that is payable in the event of one of these incidents is 1168.00 EUR. The maximum excess will vary depending on the vehicle you are renting, please ask at time of rental for further information on which excess applies. If you would like to reduce or remove your excess responsibility please ask the rental staff when collecting your vehicle about additional products that are on offer .

License Requirements

Full license that has been valid for a minimum of one year. Non - European customers require a valid International license. Should your driving license not be resident to the country of origin of your booking we reserve the right to charge an appropriate rate for your country of residence.

One Way Rentals

There is a charge of Euro 50.00 + tax for Domestic one way rentals. There is a minimum rental length of three days for all domestic one ways. International - Please consult the International One Way program (IOWP)

Out of Hours Policy

On request - there is a charge of Euro 21.00 + tax for pick-up or drop-off between 22:00 & 07:00 Hours in Warsaw, 17:00 & 09:00 in Gdansk and all other locations.

Payment Policy

All major Credit cards are accepted. Deposits will be held on a customers credit card as follows: 1. NWE - 320.00 EUR + tax (for car groups ECMN-ECMR(Economy)), 550.00 EUR + tax (for car group CCMR(Compact)), 650.00 EUR + tax (for car groups IDMR(Intermediate)-CWMR(Compact Wagon-Estate)-ICAR(Intermediate)) or 950,00 EUR + tax (for car group SVMR(Standard Pax Van)). 2. Fuel deposit ( 1,64 EUR per litre) 74 EUR - 107 EUR exc 23% VAT. Fuel prices are subject to change at any time.

Refuelling Policy

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank and the renter must pay for the missing fuel at the end of the rental. It is the renter’s responsibility to refuel with the correct fuel type. Refuelling charge is EUR 1.64 per litre + VAT. Fuel prices are subject to change at any time.

Roadside Assistance

Emergency telephone numbers in case of accident or breakdown:- Call the nearest Alamo/National location. If out of hours, call using the locations mobile numbers. These numbers will be supplied at the point of rental.

Special Equipment

Child/Infant seat CSI = Euro 2.80 + tax per day & Euro 28 + tax per rental. Child seat is suitable for up to 11years and are available on-Freesale. Winter Tyres are available free of charge outside the dates for the Winter Fee (see Surcharges). GPS is available on freesale at all locations and for all cars at a cost of EUR 7.00 + tax per day (max charge or EUR 70.00 + tax per rental) - Deposit of EUR 200.00 + tax is required - 24 hours notice required and its not available for one ways. This country does not provide reflective jackets and is not required by law to do so.

Surcharges

Winter Fee = EURO 4.5 per day + tax and this applies from 15th November till 15th March inclusive (includes winter tyres). Airport Fee = Warsaw 7.5% + tax and Krakow 5% + tax.
