Unrestricted driving within Chile. Driving into Argentina is permitted. Off Road Driving is not allowed. A special permit is required in order to cross the border into Argentina. The rental location must have a customers signed rental agreement in order to request the permit. The permit is issued by the Chilean Government 24 hours after receiving the signed agreement. The permit can only be requested Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. The permit cost is 200 USD. The permit is only valid for 30 days from issue date.
